Do I really appear autistic to you all?

Sometimes you fail to grasp things and focus on special interests. I'd like to think you're just kidding, but I'm not sure. You're ok either way.

Because to be honest, I looked up the Autism Wikipedia article and had a bit of a fright.

You could be an aspie. Nothing to be frightened about. Some of my best acquaintances are autistic. And it's very cool right now.

The part that frightened me was the repetitive behavior section.
I don't think I need to worry about the social development or the communication areas though.
Unless being shy and sheltered contributes to this.

What sort of repetitive behaviors do you exhibit?

Kathryn !TGirlYJKXM (OP) replied with this 14 years ago, 6 minutes later, 17 minutes after the original post[^] [v] #331,982

@previous (B)

> Stereotypy is repetitive movement, such as hand flapping, head rolling, or body rocking.

This doesn't sound like me.

> Compulsive behavior is intended and appears to follow rules, such as arranging objects in stacks or lines.

This to some extent does.

> Sameness is resistance to change; for example, insisting that the furniture not be moved or refusing to be interrupted.

This does as well, but sometimes I like change.

> Ritualistic behavior involves an unvarying pattern of daily activities, such as an unchanging menu or a dressing ritual. This is closely associated with sameness and an independent validation has suggested combining the two factors.

This had me slightly confused as I feel comfort in an unchanging routine despite me wanting to mix it up now and then.

> Restricted behavior is limited in focus, interest, or activity, such as preoccupation with a single television program, toy, or game.

This had me most scared.

> Self-injury includes movements that injure or can injure the person, such as eye poking, skin picking, hand biting, and head banging. A 2007 study reported that self-injury at some point affected about 30% of children with ASD.

I didn't think nothing of this one until it said "hand biting" which is a nasty habit I am trying to quit.

Sounds like you might be on the spectrum. It wouldn't hurt to get tested. You could have a better understanding of yourself and how to cope in a healthy way. Do you think any of this could be related to your curiosity about gender roles?

@previous (B)
> Do you think any of this could be related to your curiosity about gender roles?
I never actually saw a connection between the two, but I do find it odd that many transgender folk that these chans {specifically /cwc/) know have some degree of autism.
Maybe there is a connection that I never saw before or it could just be coincidence. This has me more intrigued than worried.

Intrigued is better than worried. Trans folks tend to be interesting besides the gender issue. I just asked because I've noticed the same pattern. Have you actually tried xdressing yet or is just a thought? That's where I'm at.

I really doubt you are autistic. You appear sexually underdeveloped & I suspect you need to get your hormones tested. Why? Because at your age you have said so many things here about your sexual interests (lack of) which are really not normal in my opinion.

with edit - perhaps a genetic test for chromosomes.

I reference what you said about having no interests in masturbation. Memory says ....Maybe you only have wet dreams. Did I get that right?

In the last month you really have improved because you now use Google before asking questions or posting a topic. Not that is has anything to do with sexuality. If you were really autistic, I doubt you could have paid attention to posters comments and improved so quickly.

Maybe you have OCD instead. The people on this fora largely lack empathy except a few people like me so maybe it's autism. But I think they're psychopaths too. I don't have autism though, I'm unusual but it's not this.

Honestly you did. That and test it with Google, is just not normal. You said more then that but its not really pertinent. Interests in porn vary & just because its not really your thing its not an issue. If money is an issue for a check up, search out a University Hospital and talk to them about free or almost no pay.

Look up Masturbation with Google - Look at percentages of Males that do vs not Several studies say 100% of Males do. May not apply to autistic's because they may not be able to concentrate on any single task. (Doubt that applies to you) Look up You - What are you? You are not really sure. So yes it could be hormones and even a different Chromosome mix from the majority.

Look for a free clinic where you live or near by.

I could make a list of these

What's said on anontalk clones — Translation
You have autism. — You're a nice person unlike the psychopaths here.
Stop being autistic — Stop being nice to people. Be an asshole like the rest of us.
