Today, I walked around Green Lake park here in Kunming. I came upon a group of old Chinese people -- all some sort of ethnic minority -- playing songs and dancing, from their own tradition. The men all played these strange but beautiful instruments, while the women sang and danced. Behind them there was a beautiful green lotus pond. I really felt like I was in the East, and it was a beautiful, spiritual experience.
