Topic: Residence Hotel?

Swashbuckler !!NwwlkO7Ab started this discussion 14 years ago #20,341

So, I am thinking of moving into a hotel semi-permanently. In other words, I will live in the hotel. In China, normal apartment landlords want 6 months rent in advance, and the apartments are crapholes. This place offers free laundry service, and free room cleaning service. It is slightly more expensive than an apartment. Should I do it?

hmm. Well

if the hotel is (for example) 10% more expensive tham the appt, you could do
appt = a
hotel = (.10 * a)+a
The appt would be a payment for the first six months, so that would be 6*a for the first time payment, but not having to worry about payments. The hotel however, you would have to pay monthly, but it's nicer.

So, IMO, hotel.

I agree. Thanks! Also, factor in the free cleaning and laundry services. True, it is a small room with a bed, but what else do I need? I am a bachelor and I spend most of my time teaching or on the town. I really just need a place to sleep, and the hotel itself is quite charming.

Same here, it seems the most economically and practically sensible.

Yes. Although it is slightly more expensive, it is the ultimate bachelor pad! It is also in the most charming, pretty part of the city.

Sounds great! The added in services/location would be a large factor for anyone. So the hotel sounds like a dream deal.

Thanks! Yes, I am pretty sure I will take it. The only drawback in my opinion is that it is a tiny room, but heck, as an international swashbuckling adventurer, what else would I need?

I'd love to spend some time there, but my heart is set on Denmark.

The culture, the people, the alcohol, the healthcare, the schools, the beauty of seaside towns there. Plus I know a bit of Danish anyway. I understand some spoken Danish.

But have you been there? It is quite sterile and bland.

It comes down to my raising. I grew up between two Danish neighbors. I even took a trip there when i was younger. I love it.

Ok then cool. I find that region to be cold, unfriendly, bland, and sterile, BUT, that is just me. I come from a wild, colorful, insane culture lol. To each his own, eh?

At the age 38, most men have families, a stable career, and a home. Matt has a hotel room in a 3rd world country. He is 38. This is his life.
