I have the original ds, I mean. No idea why I said 3ds. I have the original ds one, and I don't think it has wifi. If you're sure it does, please tell how I can use it, or a way to check.

Pretty sure that the original DS does have some wifi capability, mine did. Never used it, though.

It can connect to other DS'es wirelessly, but I have no idea what kind of wireless technology it uses for that. I might see if I have any wifi enabled ds games and try again

It uses wi-fi for that, I played NSMB and Mario Kart with it. If you have a Wii you can use the DS download play thing.
