@previous (realdw !jdTkvovFCQ) > what kind of fucktard hired fucking george fucking clooney to play batman for fucks sake.
The kind of fucktards that look for a high return on investment. Business 101.

I forget Clooney's acting? Did he have the voice of a 50 year old smoker like most modern superheroes do now?

"Batman & Robin was a critical failure; as of June 2010, review aggregator Rotten Tomatoes reports that 13% of critics have given the film a positive review based on 61 reviews, certifying it "Rotten"
YES I watched it and agree it was downright awful. On the other hand because I owned Warner Bros stock at the time - That awful film made me very happy indeed.
Adding I went to a free screening & after to a nice dinner party with soul food. Friends work for Warner so the pay off was a bonus (dinner)

do you really think it would not have been more profitable if it had suitable actors in it?

Of course but Warner was looking for a guarantee because they took a huge hit with six flags parks, as well as huge loss with WB TV network. Tricky business so a for sure guarantee with a star that drags in women & that is what they needed, more then just a male fan base.

Batman forever grossed almost $100 billion more, without Clooney.

Agreed. "Entertainment industry." People forget the industry part. Though I don't consider a project a real win unless it achieves both.

Val Kilmer
Tommy Lee Jones
Jim Carrey
Salary total probably was less then George's
Hey I do agree it was a lame film. Sad news that Lucas has publicly said no more blockbuster movies from him.
