That article was very very interesting. For obvious reasons, it reminded me of the book "Black like me". The little blurb at the end where it said "She continued her emotional descent, and a week later, checked in to a hospital with severe depression. Identity, she concluded, was not something to play around with." surprised me quite a bit.

I like it because the article struck me as a look at gender without attempting to establish or rehash dogma. Instead of trying to convert people to some cliched mainstream belief, the book's author attempts an objective query of human sexuality.

It's idiotic that she thought going to a strip club would help her experience the "male world." Most men don't go to strip clubs and those who have been to one, it's a very infrequent occasion.

I read it years ago. It was very interesting, but this woman really seemed to develop romantic feelings towards some of her male acquaintances during her transformation.
