No. EA has the Sims' developers on a contract. If Fallout goes to Maxis, it goes to EA. @324,628 (Broseph !!fxnDb+Ve4)
EA is dying, albeit slowly. Good riddance.

@324,629 (realdw !jdTkvovFCQ) > Electronic Arts, Inc. (EA) (NASDAQ: EA )[3] is a major American developer, marketer, publisher and distributor of video games.
Did you have a point?

If Fallout were to be given to a Maxis that is INDEPENDENT of EA, then we may have the very first STABLE vanilla Fallout game.

Wikipedia, EA, Facebook, and Android all disagree with you. EA is considered a developer.

Oh god. There'd probably be ingame DLC salesmen or something.
@324,633 (realdw !jdTkvovFCQ)
Technicalities aside, EA can be pretty shit sometimes.

EA's Fallout > given game-breaking bugs that are never patched > use a horrendously buggy and broken engine that doesn't work half the time > DLC for things that were supposed to be in the game > bugs are never patched, only increased > devs are poorly paid, punished if the game doesn't get high enough score on Metacritic or some shit > forced online DRM > ORIGIN is required > ALL Fallout games taken off GoG.com, Steam, etc. > eventually the series is cancelled for not getting as many sales as CoD
REMINDER: Fallout was created because EA killed off Wasteland.

And it'd be ruthlessly streamlined. I could see them taking out most of the armour or adding one of those dialogue wheels like in DA2 and Mass Effect.
Not that the wheels are terrible in and of themselves, but I much prefer the traditional dialogue system.

I must admit that it wouldn't be THAT much worse off than with Bethesda behind the wheel.

This would actually be interesting, but EA's The Sims Division (not Maxis) seems to be spending too much time on licking Katy Perry's cunt.

Maybe not, but EA does have a habit of dumbing things down, so they might do something along those lines.

EA is the cancer of games.
Pic only semi related

They make great games, but they sure do butt heads with their forum members a lot.

ME and DA had one or two problems, sure, but overall they were enjoyable games that I sunk a lot of time into.
Edit: the exception to this is probably DA2. It had quite a few overt flaws and I never did give it a second playthrough.

Dialogue options wouldn't matter because it would all be in Simlish. There would be no combat. And we still wouldn't see any nudity. But the options to customize your house in Megaton would be astounding.

The Sims Medieval had combat and The Sims 3 still had an option to fight. What makes you think combat wouldn't be added to a post-apocalyptic game?

There's "combat" and there's combat. Thwacking a tiny NPC on the shins with a sword until he takes a nap is not like decapitating a super mutant with a riot shotgun in VATS. Thanks.
