Even if it's just to give you a festive feeling during that time of the year. I sometimes wish I were still young so I could get away with believing in the magical fat man. And just for fun, what could some rational explanations be for if Santa Claus did exist. I like this one.> Everyone knows that the delivery of gifts in one night is bullshit and that the elves just pre-deliver them to parents with instructions not to put them out until Christmas Eve.

Okay. Asking someone how long they've believed in Santa Claus is so stupid you can't even consider it a topic suitable for idle conversation. But if you still want to know how long I've believed in some old fat guy who wears a funky red suit, I can tell you this: I never believed in him ever. The Santa who showed up at my Kindergarten Christmas festival? I knew he was fake. And I never saw Mommy kissing Santa or anything. But I have to say, even as a little kid, I knew better than to believe in some guy who only worked for one day a year. Now, having said that, it wasn't until I got older that I realized that the aliens, time travelers, ghosts, monsters, espers, evil syndicates, and the anime/manga/fantasy-flick heroes that fight said evil syndicates were also fake. Okay, I guess I always knew those things were bogus, I just didn't want to admit it. All I ever wanted was an alien, time traveler, ghost, monster, esper, evil syndicate, or the hero that fought them to just appear and say, "Hey!". Unfortunately, reality is a hard road indeed. Yep, you gotta admit, the laws of physics definitely puts a damper on things.

i find it interesting that so many people lie to their kids about Santa Claus and go to such great lengths to convince them of the myth. Even NORAD does their little tracking thing and the news reports "sightings" for all the kids to see.
Sure, it's fun. But how disillusioning when kids find out that the whole big production was a farce! All that effort, all that time and commitment to the story. Seems like exactly the opposite thing you want tied to a faith based religion.
Makes me wonder what other great productions our elder create that are also a giant sham.

He really never said energy and matter went to true zero. Yes in our universe. The energy as he explained it ended up in another universe. He was never able to modify his unifying equation to prove that. So his theory existed in science up to 1994. Everyone is waiting for his new theory with proof with math.
