I've read this article and it doesn't seem to say what the educational requirements are. It made it sound like it is something one can imminently get into.

I'm sure an advertising or marketing degree helps, but not required. Promoting is a hard job though, you need to be really good at rounding up people.

None. An event promoter can be a dunce with a 5th grade education, as long as he or she can promote an event with results.

That's precisely the challenge, you'll need to have at least 300-400 people in your contacts list that you have a good rapport with, that will show up somewhere if you tell them to do so.

You'll also need a grasp on social media, if you can't get at least a few thousand views for everything you post, you probably aren't ready to promote.

Basically you need to know how to really advertise
