What would come from a Star Wars reboot? What would the following events be if George Lucas announced that he was rebooting the very first Star Wars movie and it's two sequels? What would the new movies be like if the prequels aren't in the continuity? How would this affect the expanded universe?

I just don't understand all the rage over I to III. Probably because I grew up with them, though, so I'm not riddled with nostalgia.
