Tell him you're a transexual and then aggressively chase him around. Eventually he'll discover it's a joke and he'll appreciate that you have a sense of humor and are not just a pretty face. It'll form a lasting relationship and a good way to tell your children how you first met.

I feel like that's not casual enough for a first date though. I don't want to scare him. Especially since we haven't talked very much. I was thinking something more like coffee. But I don't really know how to ask in the first place.

"Hi, can I interest you in joining me for some coffee in my attempt to make amends with the student body?"
Make it OFFICIAL. Do this with a few other people, buy coffee, make some friends, but then at the end of the meeting say "This was fun, let's do this again.".

Well if you're a boring girl who can't be funny and weird, then then only thing going for you is looks.

I don't want to share him with other people though. Plus we have no mutual friends. But yeah that's a good idea maybe I'll see about something like that

I don't consider pretending to be a tranny funny and weird. Most guys wouldn't like that. It's immature.

This, but make a "platonic" offering. If you make clear that you like a guy and you also know him, he's probably not going to friend zone you unless he's really picky. He could be gay or in a relationship, but at the very least he knows you now and it will be easier making a move if things don't work out. I mean work out for the relationship part, I wouldn't get my hopes up for the gay part.

If you're type of lady not to come on strong then I can't give you any tips on asking him out. I'm a put it all on the table kind of guy. Although I would suggest bringing him somewhere that has an activity: ice skating, bowling, etc. They tend to break up the quiet moment especially if you're nervous or don't know him very well. Don't bring him cinema, them always make awful first dates and don't do the facebook creep either it's wierd.
If you have an upcoming event (Friends birthday party etc), facebook (if you're friends) him and ask him would he like to go. Tell him that your friend insists that you bring a date/friend.

Too late. Waaaay too late. ;_;
I think I am gonna ask him for help on a homework thing and afterwards offer to buy him coffee or lunch or something. As a thank you.

But the homework thing is really specific and he may or may not know it. I don't know what I'll do if he doesn't know how to do it. "Let me buy you lunch as a thank you for helping me even though you don't know how to do this" feels so obvious.

I think you mean African American. Scatman is Kenyan and he doesn't write like he's two.
@320,736 (Handel !khEOdtKF56) > What is wrong with you?! Seriously!
What she does depends on the guy. A one shot technique isn't going to work.

There must be some universal thing that works on all guys, no?

Honestly - > elmo advice just ask to hang out and go to a coffee shop or a park.
Worked for me many a year ago. It of course can just be what anyone says to another just for friendship. Relationships should start with basic friendship. That way you may discover stuff that will make you back off from more then just pure friendship.
With one I am thinking of - it did for me. I discovered that I did not have one asset she desired in males (few do) and I did not want to end up in embarrassment over this. She still makes a great friend albeit because of distance its often a year or three now. And she has one asset that I did covet until I found out that asset fails to do anything for her.

Nigeria and Somalia have the smartest niggers. Sure they're criminals, but what nigger isn't. And hey, at least they're successful.

I just sort of asked to hang out. You're right, it will be good to get to know one another before any formal dating takes place. Thank you for your advice.

Keep us up to date. Remember nothing ventured nothing gained.
Could tell you about the time one sweet thing asked me WHY I failed to make a move on her. Thing was I got to know her as a friend and then discovered I did not have what she needed. About a year later I kind of changed my mind and told her. Alas too late lolo.
Still I know it would never have really worked out & it was my lower brain at work.
