Because the only reason why I may want one is to run games I can't run well on any PC like GTAIV and perhaps GTAV and for games that are only exclusive to consoles, Red Dead Redemption. But I really dislike how you have to pay for online play while other consoles such as the Wii and PS3 don't.
A reason why I didn't consider this before was because I figured that I might as well just save money for a PC to run the PC version of GTAIV, etc.
I have also been curious as to what Valve has planned with their "Steam box".

They've recently started developing games for linux, so it wouldn't be surprising if it was just a box that runs a locked down variant of linux.

Mmhm, I like PC gaming as much as the next guy and I respect your preferences because I'm not an autistic sweaty mess, but at the end of the day, that's all it really is. A matter of preference. We may as well be having a cut vs. uncut debate right now.

I'll probably wouldn't get a 360 or PS3 since one of my motives is to play games my PC can't run which seems entirely pointless when I could just upgrade/buy a new PC instead. Still, it would be nice to have a "mainstream" consoles for games released solely on platforms (Red Dead Redemption) since the devs fear pirates now. But I really dislike paying for online access on a console when the PS3 offers it for free and from what I heard, better exclusive games as well. Most of the games I want to play anyway both are on the 360 and PS3, but 360 might have more marketplace titles I would likes.
