Mayan calendar says a new cycle begins that day, not the end of the world.

You fell for non Mayans who say December 21, 2012 is simply the day that the calendar will go to the next b'ak'tun, at Long Count 13.0.0.0.0. (Uses Base 20) The Pre-Colombian Dresden Codex & Maya codices place the limit at Dec 21, 2012

The non Mayans are the ones who came up with the end of the world meaning because they couldn't make sense of what was happening with the calendar.

"when the numbers reach zero, they will start counting up from one again. No mystery."
lolonono Do you believe everything you read on the web? Republicans say there is no such thing as Global Warming.
"Experts have deduced that the Mayan Long Count Calendar began on August 11 or 13, 3114 BC. Based on the hieroglyphs on the calendar, it has been calculated that the calendar ends on either December 21 or 23, 2012. Therefore, the amount of time that the Mayan Long Count Calendar measures is roughly 5,125 years. It is the belief of many that “doomsday†is going to occur on the last day of the Mayan Long Count Calendar. In other words, they believe the world will end on December 21 or 23, 2012. Well, most of them believe it is going to be December 21. What exactly is going to happen is not certain."
"December 21 is the winter solstice. Furthermore, the Sun will be lining up with the plane of the Milky Way Galaxy on that very same day. Therefore, the end of the Mayan Calendar, the lining up of the sun and the plane of the galaxy and the winter solstice are all occurring at the same time. This is indicative of the fact that something catastrophic is going to occur on that day.

I am not about to defend the Mayan calendar. After all Christianity on Planet Earth 2.1 billion People.
That means a shit load of Christians outnumber the Mayans and Christians believe among other things a dead dude is the Son of God and even for more lutz his Mommy was still a Virgin at Birth.
This is green's modern civilization. lolonono

An atheist dies and wakes up to find he is in hell. He's really depressed as he stands in the processing line waiting to talk to an admittance counselor. He thinks to himself "I know I lead a wild life but I wasn't that bad. I never thought it would come to this." Looking up he sees that it is his turn to be processed into hell. With fear and a heavy heart, he walks up to the counselor.
Counselor: What's the problem, you look depressed?
Atheist: Well, what do you think? I'm in hell.
Counselor: Hell's not so bad, we actually have a lot of fun. Do you like to drink?
Atheist: Sure, I love to drink.
Counselor: Well then, you are going to love Mondays. On Mondays we drink up a storm. You can have whiskey, rum, tequila, beer, whatever you want and as much a you want. We party all night long. You'll love Mondays. Do you smoke?
Atheist: Yes, as a matter of fact I do.

And you smoke to your heart's desire without worrying about cancer because you are already dead! Is that great or what? You are going to love Tuesdays. Do you do drugs?
Atheist: Well in my younger days I experimented a little.
Counselor: You are going to love Wednesdays. That's drug day. You can experiment with any drug you want and you don't have to worry about overdoses or getting hooked because you are already dead. You are going to love Wednesdays. Do you gamble?
Atheist: Yes, I love to gamble.
Counselor: You are going to love Thursdays because we gamble all day and night -- black jack, craps, poker, slots, horse races, everything! You are going to love Thursdays. Are you gay?
Atheist: Uhh...no.
Counselor: Oh , you're gonna hate Fridays...
