Really, really, exceptionally bad. It's so bad that sometimes it makes me laugh. Good job @OP.

That was fucking terrible. Some of the beats were good, but it was horribly produced and your voice is fucking terrible. Just terrible.

I told you guys the recording quality was absolute shit, and I said my singing was bad. I think the mic isn't picking up on my voice well, and making it sound bad. I could actually be a bad singer though. Even though I have medals

> > I know the sound quality is shit, and I'm not a very good singer. But here you go
You could hit a flea market or swap meet or hit craigs list and pay $10 for a decent mike. Sound is beyond HORRID HORRID just HORRID.
The room may also need a little work because there is so much ambient echo - pick up some furniture while you are at it at the flea market.

If you know your singing and recording quality is bad, then why not take your singing out of it completely and just focus on the music? Some of the beats sound good, you've just gotta work on bringing it all together.

I used to do like strictly techno stuff, and just make beats on my computer. But I'd like to be able to make songs with singing and all that. I'm actually sure if you guys heard me sing in person, you wouldn't think I was that bad. making decent music is fucking expensive, and it sucks.

Word of warning on condenser mikes. Your current ambient room situation will become 1000% worse. Not a big deal to hang stuff on the wall and fix up the room to adsorb sound waves. Hit the web for advice on how to do this. At the moment Condenser Mike would be not so good of a choice for you.

I figure I can just use an empty closet, and cover it in padding for a makeshift recording studio.

Not necessarily so. For example if you look up Buddy Holly n the Crickets you will find out why they named the group the Crickets.
Garage operation with stuff on the wall - cheep stuff to turn the place into a good sounding room. They even used some truly dirt cheep electronics. That said if you listen to the first album you can here the added musical effect from real honest to god insect Crickets.

Quantize your synths/drums.
Record your synths with anything but a microphone.
Yes, get a better mic.
Get better at singing.
Get better at everything else, and don't use presets.

There are many examples on the web on the how to do a homemade recording booth. You will see real cheep ways to cut out the room bounce. One can even make a home made Condenser mike. Friends of mine have. The empty closet would work and even thrown away egg cartons work wonders. With enough room one can use mattress's on the walls. Old pillows etc

He could concentrate on the synths/drums and find a cute girl to sing. Easy to talk a gal into a chance at stardom lolo
