Topic: People who claim to be satanist can be pretty annoying.

At least the majority of the ones I've encountered anyway. Even more cringe-worthy and obnoxious behavior than diehard atheists at times. I wonder how many of them do it simply for the shock value to tell other people this belief. Not saying it's any more or less annoying/valid than other religious views but most people who wear their religious views on their sleeves and have to namedrop it whenever the opportunity presents itself is just...meh.

It's hard not to be a pretentious asshole when you're an atheist though, it really is. Like sometimes you might say something and not even realize how offensive it might be until later. I really try to be a good guy like all the time, this means biting my tongue a lot.

I do really respect people who can keep it to themselves rather than constantly shoving it down other people's throats. Opinions will be opinions but some people just really need to tone it down.

They're annoying because they're lying. All the real satanists kill themselves.

not true. many are gluttons for every vice, and enjoy themselves immensely.

I think that most satanists are hedonists.

Real hedonists sure, but not necessarily real satanists.
You see there's nothing hardcore or edgy about claiming to be a hedonist. All that means is you have no will. A slave to your vices if you will. So most hedonists claim to be satanists to hide the fact they are of weak constitution.

they might. is there anything hardcore about satanists at all? most are fat and lazy, and never mutilate anyone.

Not even themselves. Which gets back to my original point. They're posers.

I always thought that Satanism was just an attempt to get away from the idea that enjoying yourself is bad -- not to become a slave to your vices but to enjoy them in a guilt-free fashion. What I always found puzzling about this is: Do you really need to dream up some pseudo-religious flipside to Christianity to do this? Isn't it easier to just enjoy yourself and not give a fuck rather than go out of your way to advertise how rebellious you think you're being?
tl;dr: Satanists: Trying too hard.

He's right you know. Satanists are fat asses with drug problems. There's simply no reason to respect them.

Satan is a model or a mode of behavior. Satan in Hebrew means 'adversary' or 'opposer'; one who questions. Liminal experiences by friendless adolescents who wish only to shock does not and should not diminish this most noble ritual.

I was mostly referring to LaVeyanism. Luciferians tend to have more tact about how they share their beliefs. I think the dressing up in dark colored robes and having black masses and all of the silly ritual stuff is just completely vain.
