Topic: I just tried miso soup, fora.

And it doesn't taste like much of anything, just vaguely salty and soy-ish. It was Kikkoman instant miso soup.

I give it 5/10.

ODD!

Any brand of instant Ramen is usually satisfying. Real Ramen on the other hand is beyond words I can express.

Never tried the Kikkoman instant anything. Real Miso soup as found in any Sushi restaurant is a happy bowl to eat.

Do you live in a big city with Japanese restaurants?

Easy to make at home. Japanese markets and even my local supermarkets have a variety of Miso's. It will last almost forever. Cannot spoil in the frig.

Important to add at the end and not really cook Miso paste.

I do, but I never liked restaurants much. I prefer to cook at home (I know that pouring dehydrated soup into hot water isn't cooking, but I had never had it before and wanted to get an idea of what it's supposed to taste like).

The soup was miso broth with seaweed and little cubes of dehydrated tofu.

Have you tried the real deal? True Ramen soup and not the instant kind. Instants are often more then ok with ADDED Stuff from Frig.

Sounds like a Fox~Con job to me.

Now that sounds like the stuff that makes it GREAT. I tend to add too much but the soup is always a full meal. Where I live we have Trader Joes. They have several kinds of Gyoza (Japanese dumplings) 2 minutes max in soup from freezer and some hot mustard dipping sauce and heaven in a bowel. Your Asian shop would have a variety of Chinese dumplings.

I have tossed in a whole fish fillet and or Shrimp as well. Any left over meat from frig.
