Because he's the only candidate who truly understands the need to reduce the size and scope of the government. Pretty much everything he has predicted in the past 20 years has come true, and yet people still dismiss him as a "fringe". We have a huge debt and budget crisis, and he's the only candidate with enough common sense to say "it's because the government is out of control." Other politicians won't make this part of their platform, because they're career politicians and their careers depend on a nice fat government to line their pockets.

It doesn't matter. You vote on principle. Even if he doesn't win, other politicians will see that he's getting delegates and realize that if they want those delegates, they need to appeal to those voters. As a result, in the future, we will have more politicians willing to stand up for the things Ron Paul stands for.

No argument there. I think its just like Physics.
Impulse is the change in momentum of an object: j = Δp
Impulse occurs as force is applied to an object over a period of time: j = FΔt
In the end there will be Two Candidates and "My Object" is to use my momentum (vote) to influence the outcome I want.
Ron Paul is a Force & has Momentum, however its a 3rd order effect & much like the power of a shadow or moonlight; Ron Paul will have no influence on the outcome
Third Law of Physics applied.
The third law says that for every action (force) there is an equal and opposite reaction (force). Forces are found in pairs.
Ron Paul is again a 3rd order effect.
Yes it is possible for a 3rd candidate to have a huge influence on the outcome. Ralph Nader using a controversial spoiler strategy as a 3rd party, may have pushed the election. (Not the strategy Ron Paul is using)
