So, my the radio harness in my Jeep doesn't get any power at all. Everything is fine, except for that. How hard would it be to fix this? I mean, I know I'm probably going to have to trace the wire all the way back, but any ideas?

What did I do?

Checked it all. Even used a brand new deck. Checked both fuses on near door and under the hood. Meter showed no power going to the wires in the harness. I wish that were the problem though. Also, to make sure I even changed the fuses.

Does the battery drain?
Does the stereo click when you turn the key to the accessory position?
What year and model is the Jeep?
Check the fuse to see if its blown, then check the fuse panel for any shorts with a multimeter. If the specific fuse isn't getting any juice, you can wire from another KO fuse. If the fuse isn't blown and is getting power, pull the stereo and check (probe) the stereo harness for power with a multimeter, you can get an analog one at walmart for around $20. If the short is somewhere in the stereo harness, it will probably involve feeding a new wire through the dash to the fuse panel. If everything is getting juice, the unit is most likely bad, put in an aftermarket one with a good harness. Finally, check your ground wires, finding and fixing a bad ground could solve your problems.

Did you check the wires going from the under hood fuse box to the cabin fuse box? Try running a power lead straight from the battery to the stereo?

Fuse gets juice and didn't find any shorts. The stereo harness gets no power at all. Just bought a new cheap unit so I can have a USB port built in. Also, ground wires seem to be good.

Planned on doing this tomorrow when I had time. I'll probably have to feed some new wires.

Me and my girl just got the Jeep less than a couple weeks ago after being fully tuned up. Still plan on getting my Miata, but not a priority right now since we have something to get around in.

I used one of those on a KO fuse for my CB radio. You can use them for fuses up to 15A, but I don't trust it for that much, IMO they are fine if you are running something that uses less than 5A, otherwise I would wire to the battery.
