I do know that US Customs will not allow passengers to bring meats, cured or otherwise, because they are prohibited.

That means no sausage!!. Italy has honest real wonderful cured meats that are illegal to carry in much less import to USA.

The real Baloney is "Mortadella di Bologna" Only imitations are available in USA.
