why does it look even less realistic than past versions?

@previous (E)
Unless you're killing people ultra realism isn't important.

It's going to require Origin and 24/7 data feed to EA servers to play. Just so you know.

I guess this means I'd be pirating it.

> Why the fuck can't we get any good single player games anymore?

Because most of the games industry has convinced itself that multiplayer needs to be welded onto everything.

Single player doesn't sell as well at multiplayer. Deal with it.

Do you really think that people bought Dead Space 2 or the first Darkness for the multiplayer?

I don't necessarily disagree with you. Just look at Mass Effect 3's multiplayer, ME was all single-player before but the new multilayer is actually really good.

The problem is with games that have this always online crap or divert resources just to include half-assed multiplayer.

dw replied with this 14 years ago, 2 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #313,039

@previous (Killer Lettuce !!iNo3FkiZx)
but the simcity multiplayer is supposed to be amazing!

Killer Lettuce !!iNo3FkiZx replied with this 14 years ago, 4 minutes later, 1 day after the original post[^] [v] #313,040

@previous (dw)
Sure, it'll probably be pretty decent since EA has the resources to make it good.

Still, suddenly having to always be online to play what used to single-player game seems a bit harsh.

That's the way everything on Steam works. I still hate EA though.

Oh, that's not so bad then.

Steam only looks at what you've installed via steam. It's a more ethically defensible policy than looking at everything installed on the HD, which Origin does.

Origin delivers data with the potential to identify illegal content on your machine. Steam does not.

steam also checks every program on your computer.

@313,044 (Killer Lettuce !!iNo3FkiZx)
yeah but you need to be online to activate it and a lot of games won't work in offline mode

But that's wrong. No actual computer analyst has been able to demonstrate that is true for Steam. Yet, several have done so for Origin.

Click add a non-steam game. it shows every program on your computer in a list.

Showing it you and sending data to steam are not the same thing.
