With Dumbledore it would make sense. The whole Gandalf look but as a black guy and we'd guess it was dumbledore.
With Crabbe, it wasn't just a replacement to a black guy. No, they had to make him completely the opposite of the book--pencil thin, clean-cut instead of sloblike, no scenes of gluttony.

I wanted Hermione to have bushy hair and big teeth. it would have made her transformation, as dramatic as it should have been. Also, Harry Potter didnt even have the right colored eyes, and that was a b ig freaking deal in the book.
