A Face Book is what is given to new students in some universities. It has a picture of everyone there with a name, maybe a bio. This is so that people can find people to be friends with. Facebook was originally called The Face Book.

Because movies are not renowned for getting their facts correct. Let's take The Social Network, which apparently anyone who knows anything about Facebook got all their information from. Very little of the story told in that film is correct. You're learning incorrect things, which is an unintelligent thing to do.
And they are commonly known. Just because you're too busy learning that space acts cold or that you can jump over lava and be fine as long as you don't touch it to know these basic facts doesn't mean they're not commonly known.

I don't learn from movies because I don't pay close attention to movies. I'm sure there are some things I could potentially learn, but I don't really care. If there is a fact in a movie and I didn't know of it, it isn't important to me, at least at the time.
