Topic: Is there something like mcmmo for Minecraft SSP?

Anonymous A started this discussion 14 years ago #18,752

After playing on a few servers that had this plugin, I find it hard to play without it whenever I start a new single player game.

Is there a mod or a version of mcmmo made specifically for single player?

I saw that too, but sadly it's not updated for 1.2.5. :(

True, but are you really losing much from the overall Minecraft experience by going back to 1.1? I don't think so, but that's just my opinion. The things they choose to update are just weird, there's lots of small but annoying shit that would make a big difference to the game and needs fixed that gets ignored (vertical redstone ffs, give it to us). I can only assume updates have always been this way...

I also don't like some of the other stuff that mod adds. The armor looks weird and so too the NPCs. I really just want the skills and stats.
You also forgot that we STILL do not have controllable pigs. The mod for that is stuck at beta 1.7.3.
Also, you'll like this.

Yes this is great! That's what bugs me, there are so many damn good mods out there that could be implemented in the regular game without taking away from "the vanilla experience". Yet they choose to raise the vertical height limit and and cats instead. Lets get some old stuff improved/fixed before we add new stuff!

The new employee Jon was responsible for the cats and I've been wanting to make a new mod pack called "Vanillaplus" which features little mods like this without removing the "Vanilla experience", but a mod actually took the name.

Also, that site has a lot of other cool mods there.

Still do it, just call it BetterVanilla.

Nice and I would want an installer for it. If only I knew how to make one.
And I think I've already forgotten a few mods I wanted to put in it. I really should have written them down.

But I know what the qualifications should be for mods in the pack.

1. Simple additions that don't add too much, but just enough to add a lot. (I'm still counting ComputerCraft.)
2. Simple recipes to fit in with the vanilla feel of the game.
3. Recipes must make sense within the realms of Minecraft and reality.

I think I may have found another mod to put in, but it kind of takes away from any challenge. Still, nobody is forcing you to use specific mods in this pack.

Also, nearly all of Risugami's mods should be in this pack. Like shelves, elemental arrows, recipe book, maybe floodgate, light sensor, more stackables, and of course modloader and audiomod.

Run your own server. Just run it locally, op yourself, and only have it on when you want to play with it. This way you'll have access to all client and server mods.

I'd have to use hamachi, because my server client freaks the fuck out without it.
I have thought about this, but I would need bukkit, yes?

r04r !GETFUCKED replied with this 14 years ago, 5 minutes later, 7 hours after the original post[^] [v] #310,202

@previous (A)
You don't need hamachi, but you do need bukkit. What you'd do is just run a copy of bukkit+plugins on your computer, then start your minecraft client and point it towards 'localhost' or '127.0.0.1' (Both without the quotes).

What are the chances of it lagging and giving me that "Can't keep up" message if I redirect the client to 'localhost'?
This was why I used Hamachi for a short period of time.

Pretty high, but it'll still give that even if you're using hamachi, because hamachi has no way to effect that. Those warning messages are safe to ignore.

Don't those messages indicate rather or not you have enough RAM?

Not entirely sure what the messages mean, but it doesn't matter if it runs less than optimal if you're going to be the only player.

Okay, I have a bukkit server and mcmmo is installed. What was the plugin for the /kits? Does that come built in with bukkit?

I think it's Essentials.

Is it apart of the core or the extras?

Core I think. http://wiki.ess3.net/wiki/Command_Reference

Why is there a /gamemode? Isn't that a default command or do vanilla commands not work with bukkit?
Would I need to install all four .jars?

@previous (A)
Maybe to implement it differently, with other arguments or something. I have no idea which jars you all need, probalby just the essentials core.

What was the name of the treecapitator-esque plugin?

timber?

This is a mod for single player? Which is better, treecapitator or timber?
I don't see anything in the thread that says it's for multiplayer.

I found another mod that's gotta be in BetterVanilla mod pack.

It's the old days mod which basically allows you to toggle on and off old bugs or old features.
