And bottled water is a better alternative.

If you finish a bottle of water and refill it with some from our school water fountains, you almost can't see through it.

What color is the water? Is it a murky white, or is it rust colored?

It's a cloudy gray.

Does the color fade over time?

@OP
Buy a filter.

I actually have a filter, but it doesn't seem to have much of an effect as the water still has a weird aftertaste.
But still, it's drinkable.

I have not stayed close enough to the foul substance for long enough to observe any such phenomena. I was too scared of growing a third arm.

@309,524 (A)
You should get a new/different filter.

Well the point is that if the water is cloudy gray it means there is air in it. It clears up after a little bit of time.

Edit: How is the taste?

Its either too oxygenated or it has too much calcium. Either way its pretty safe to drink. If its pulled from a well on the other hand, it could be silica.

@309,524 (A)
What does it taste like?

@309,525 (Stealth)
Just rusty pipes from aged infrastructure, no biggie. Probably has a hell of a taste.

You can clearly taste the iron, like blood, but it also has some other shit that I can't describe. It does not taste very clean, but I'm sure it meets the minimum health requirements.

That was in people's homes, not a school. If something like that came out in a public school, the company would have just been smote by a mob of angry soccer moms.

Eh. Perhaps it's my shitty desert water. It might be unable to be filtered PURdy.
