I did this once before a few months ago. I went from being on facebook all the time, to nothing. I had an attractive lady I mistakenly thought was flirting with me (she talked to me, Im not used to that. She talked to me to get me to introduce her to this Stud I was conversing with) mentioned I had deactivated it, so I re-activated in the hopes something would come of it.
Of course nothing did. I never went back to using it often. It was odd. I literally was like addicted to it I guess. I didn't have any distress when I canceled, so it was just something I became accustomed to. Instead of checking facebook and then minichan, i would just check minichan.
Anyway, I dieactivated it because I don't use it. I have little friends, and when I did check it out I was distressed by things I saw. A friend of mine once stole credit for a creative project we worked on together. It was my brain-child (pronounced as one word), and he and I pretty much fleshed out the story over dinner one night.
It became a piece for his little comedy duo. I was annoyed a bit and brought it up to him before, and he seemed to have mysteriously fuzzy recollection on its birth. He tagged me in a post where linked to it today (now, keep in mind this is a few years back we made this) where he put me in as an after-thought. I have so very little, and he takes this from me.
I was going to write a very snarky comment that only he and I would get was negative, but would be equally hilarious to anyone who read it. Then I felt like his posting didn't deserve my wit. I am quite great at facebook commenting. I just haven't had that desire to do so. I decided to read my news feed, something I haven't done in months.
I don't know these people. Who are they? I know who they WERE, but I don't know who they are. Why am I keeping some weird connection on the internet to people who could care less about me, and I them? I was going to go through and make a comment massacre. Funnel my frustrations through extremely hilarious comments that poke fun at the posters.
Then I came across a picture. It was the daughter of one of my "Friends." She looked old. Like, 8 or 9, but thats old for someone I went to high school with (especially since they are two years younger than I). Yes, she got knocked up young, but it is a reminder how I don't need this connection to these people's lives. This chick's sister, who I loved dearly for years, has two kids. Two kids. That shit is just like woah. This is a woman I was obsessed with for a decade. She has two kids. I've met one.
They are having families. They have futures. They have dreams and hopes they are seeing fulfilled, or are planning to fulfill. There was talk of tastings for food and drinks for a reception. There was talks of anniversaries. There was much back and forth of a jovial nature. Here I am just a bitter angry fool with nothing and no one.
I don't belong on facebook. I barely belong on minichan. I should be on some old BBS for angry virgins (though I've know the warmth of a vagina, I think I share more in common with this pathetic group than others).
Fuck facebook. Also, fuck my copy+paste. The only reason I made this was to paste the text I wrote in the message box for facebook when you deactivate. It was funny, but is lost forever.

It's kind of like how a woman that is size 0-4 is to be considered a woman, and any other woman of any shape or size is not a real person. Well, the only option for a person in life is to settle down and have children. Any other path in life that does not consist of big house-married-kids-expensive-car means you are a failure.

If you keep failing, then maybe that man needs to take some serious meditation time and think that maybe, "this is not the path I'm meant for in life", and come up with other options that you feel passionate about....even if that passion is only 1%

Ultimately you should end up wanting what you are meant for though. Even if it only appears that the "American dream" is the only think you want right now, trying something else could help you discover a new desire.
