I recently got a new mp3 player that plays video, but only in .avi format.
It came with software, but I don't have the disk drive to actually install it since it's one of those smaller discs.

Recommendations for good free video conversation software?

The smaller disc should fit in your regular disc drive. It should have a lowered part in the center that the small disc fits right in.
