The little guy looked like he was going for a kimura. Ground fighting without strikes could have won for him. Check out Akebono vs Royce Gracie if you don't believe me. Gracie wins via omoplata. The little guy in this video could have possibly done the same.

Find some of the early UFC stuff, back when literally the only rules were no biting and no eye gouging, some brutal fucking matches (and mismatches, no weight-classes etc). I remember it was hard to find the videos forever, Blockbuster and other big-name rental places didn't carry them (this was before widespread satellite TV). I remember one match where on guy was just snapping the other guy's fingers and shit. Man, just talking about it makes me want to watch those early seasons again. I don't think the UFC implemented any more rules for like five years after it started (maybe more).
