Topic: What are some of your favourite conspiracy theories?

green !YzDEWwv9Z2 started this discussion 14 years ago #18,613

My favourites are about Antarctica and the expanding earth. Some people think that under the ice there is an ancient city with amazing technology. This could be a reason why the nazis sent expeditions there.
The expanding earth theory is that if you shrunk the earth by 50%, all the continents would fit together.

One of the most ridiculous ones I've heard is that the Nazis have actually survived to the present day, as they have secret bases both under Antarctica and on the moon. They also have flying saucers, apparently.

For me, the most interesting one is the UFO/alien abduction one. There's a lot of interesting stuff to read about and it points out some odd stuff in history.

Ha. The Nazis wasted so much money on fruitless occult research.

Velikovsky's reconstruction of history through comparative mythology has to rank among my all time favorites. Worlds in Collision is an amazing read for the mythology alone. It's as if he wove elements of every ancient religious story he could find together to come up with a gloriously inane history that pays homage to them all.

David Icke should probably get an honorable mention for the sheer scope of his theories and the balls it takes to maintain that they are true. I would throw in Richard C. Hoagland as well for similar reasons and for entertainment value; I don't think there is a celestial object anywhere in the sky that he hasn't claimed was a home to, a spaceship of, or a secret base for aliens at some point.

Anything about what goes on in secret societies. Illuminati, and Bohemian club for instance. The Reptilian thing (people in power are lizards), the theory that the world already went through the rapture (we are in the time of tribulation), Holocaust totally didn't happen, we live in a dome and the sky is just a hologram, truthism, cigarettes cause lung cancer, the government frequently drugs its people to prevent revolution (not directly like valium spray on rioters, but like flouride in the water-yes there's flouride in the water, but not to make you dumb/submissive)

Illuminati's legit. It's hardly secret anymore. The only secret they have left is who's running that shit: Jesuits? Israel? Freemasons?

Flouride in water has always been bullshit. It's always been about giving the government an excuse to handle industrial waste (which they process using our bodies as a filter, lol). The levels in use are well tolerated, but I think conspiracy theorists latch on to the flouride issue because it demonstrates government's willingness to use junk science, misinformation and propaganda to push an agenda that may not be in the best interest of the individual.

Flouride is put in the water because it helps so much with dental hygeine. The flouride you drink ends up in your saliva and it helps keep your teeth healthy. Ask any dentist. It's not junk science or a conspiracy.

I've heard of reptoids, but I don't think they're aliens. I think there could have been a reptilian equivalent to humans though. The dinosaurs were around for a long time.
