I predict 15-25 years at least. But rechargeables are taking over.

One day you are crying about the obsolete 2g phone and now you admit you buy newer technology.

$10 for a recharger with a set of 2X AA's ....Was the best investment I have made in years. Batts are rated for 500 charges yet after double that they keep going and going. I have noticed they last only about 75% now. Ready to buy a new set and happy to pay for the technology.

That's the problem with rechargeable batteries. You can use them over and over, but they only last about half as long as a regular battery with each charge. Also, unless you're using nickel-metal-hydride rechargeables, they don't hold their charge very well, so you have to charge them right before you use them. Then of course there's the issue you pointed out where they hold less of a charge each time you use them until they're completely dead.

I like Energizer Ultimate Lithium batteries because they really do last at least 8 times longer than a regular battery, or about 16 times longer than a rechargeable. So even though they're only good for one use, 2 Energizer Ultimate Lithiums is like carrying around 32 rechargeables.

When they can make rechargeable batteries that will last as long as an Energizer Ultimate Lithium, that's when disposable batteries will go away.

Use rechargeables when you can, but always have some disposeables handy for when you need them.

My $10 paid for the recharger with 2 of those batteries and with over 1000 charges and going ...anyway its a major money savings and perhaps I will wait until they only hold the charge for 50% before buying a new pair.

Recharging is for dumb fucking idiots that have time to waste. I get paid enough to buy batteries. This is the fucking 21st century, bitch lithium batteries are always superior and better economically.
