They already did a live-action version for Japanese audiences. Seems like the next logical step.

Anglocizing the franchise? From a business standpoint, sure, but otherwise it seems absolutely frivolous and done for no other reason than to make money.

So you believe that it will make money rather than lose money from the effort?

It depends really on how they market it. If it's a full-blown film feature similar to Dragonball Evolutions then it will definitely be critically panned. If it's a rather low budget direct-to-DVD thing with a limited release then who knows. Mortal Kombat sort of escaped its fate in regards to this. I'm confident any such endeavor will flop but depending on where its filmed and who's funding it there is no real measure to how it will do. If losing money was a critical factor than Uwe Boll wouldn't still be making films.

I share you pain, weeaboo. What they have done to Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is unforgivable.

I look forward to Justin Beiber or Zac Efron playing Light.

I always thought Death Note had a stupid storyline.

This. The Ninja Turtles were not always like that. Master Splinter was not always like that. This is why I don't like the new TMNT.

Dragon all Evolution was terrible, which is why it was panned.
