Anglocizing the franchise? From a business standpoint, sure, but otherwise it seems absolutely frivolous and done for no other reason than to make money.

It depends really on how they market it. If it's a full-blown film feature similar to Dragonball Evolutions then it will definitely be critically panned. If it's a rather low budget direct-to-DVD thing with a limited release then who knows. Mortal Kombat sort of escaped its fate in regards to this. I'm confident any such endeavor will flop but depending on where its filmed and who's funding it there is no real measure to how it will do. If losing money was a critical factor than Uwe Boll wouldn't still be making films.
