It's personal preference really. Honestly, it's like GIMP vs Photoshop. I'd rather use GIMP.

I must admit Vegas is much more intuitive to use while Premier pro complicates stuff unnecessarily.

I'd rather use Blender than either of those. You have to hack it for video, but it's fucking tight. Too bad the devs don't see the potential of their own product.

But that's not video editing... @OP means taking clips you filmed and putting them together, adding effects etc.
