Topic: Why does Chrome render pages faster than Firefox?

Anonymous A started this discussion 14 years ago #18,525

I decided to say fuck it and use Chrome for a bit before switching back to Firefox. Why does this browser render pages so quickly?

Its better at rendering, much more efficient. No bulk to get in the way.
It'll never replace my Firefox though. Got irreplacable addons.

What are some addons Firefox has that Chrome doesn't?

I think Firefox renders pages better though. I've had numerous buggy annoyances with Chrome, like random things not loading properly.

Chrome has a $Godzillion company behind it, that pushed the browser development for mobile devices. Lean & mean and efficient. Render quickly and use less battery power. Firefox is still my fav browser BUT when it screws something up I switch to Chrome.

Just because the nature of Chrome it's a light browser, it has a faster Javascript engine. That's pretty much Chrome's only advantage, speed.
