Topic: Punk has been dead for years and will never return.

Lately I've been reading various websites and forums about punk subculture because I used to know a lot of crusties and oi kids. From what I see now are various opinions that range from things like "not giving a fuck about what society thinks is right" or "what the status quo is" to "it's about believing in what you believe in and fighting for it". But that's just it... What are they fighting for? I think it's always been rather pointless and the people who use the fashions such as studded jackets, mohawks, workboots and rings are now inundated with marketing ploys and other such bullshit. I think what really kicked everything right in the balls was how accessible the internet has become and how technology has revolutionized everything including the DIY attitude that was a common theme for punk subculture. Now I see pictures of people with mohawks and studded jackets taking MySpace photos with iPhones in their hands. God damn.
Fakery makes my head hurt. Anyway, good riddance. Even if you think it's always been shit, regardless of the fact it is absolute shit now.
So on I could as with The Business, Varukers, 4skins, Oi!sters, Refused, Doughnuts, etc.
Where's the fun these days?

PUnk has always been dead and it's so much better off that way. Least when shit's corporately taken over it's branded more visually appealing and mixed better, as opposed to their DIY self-produced sonic pollution that tears my fucking ear drums apart

+1 This may be the first time I've found myself agreeing with The Sheep.
