Yes, take it. Even if it's in bad condition, you could probably list it in the paper for cheap, and someone will buy it.

It may take a few days but if I do accept it I'll try to take some pictures.

you really should take it. you could list in the newspaper, on Ebay, you could donate it to a local auction (people would buy so many tickets), you could give it to someone as a gift, you could hang it on your wall, you could give it to your favorite local sports bar, and they'll have it wear holiday specif hats.

Eventually, you're going to say to someone "You know, I almost didn't accept that bear head". and they're going to be all "Oh man.I'm so glad that you did because I love it".

Are you debating between keeping it and selling it? I wonder how much it could be worth considering you got it for free.
If you wanna keep it, mount it up on the wall somewhere. I'm sure you've got plenty of wall space, right?

I was thinking I could easily flip it for at least a few hundred bucks but I'm still debating my decision. For now it's just sitting on a chair facing the front door haha.

Normally you do have to kill to get one of those.

I searched "mounted brown bear head" on Google to try and find a price, and this thread is the 5th result. Kinda funny. I found an antique one that's going for $2,500.
I'm actually having a really hard time finding anything. You actually might be able to get a couple grand out of it, if you can find a buyer.

he'd have to have someone who knows about such things, look at it and check it's condition. to get an accurate price estimate.

So put it on eBay with a lot of close-ups so people can make their own assessment and see what they bid. Set a reserve of like $300 and just hold onto it if no one bids.

My first concern is that it's legal to possess or transport. I can't even imagine on how I would ship something like this or what postage would be. I don't even know what species it is so I guess I need to do my research.

I've found a couple websites that sell them (but they're sold out with no price listed), and I couldn't find any laws saying they can't be bought and sold. I think it's only illegal to buy and sell taxidermy of endangered species because they don't want to allow a market for them.

yeah, finding that out is very important. probably not anything endangered, but better to be on the safe side.

Yeah... at the very worst I think it could mean that it's simply confiscated. I'm not really worried but you never know!

I think I'm going to keep it and put it on one of my walls. It's already mountable in the back so I'll just find a nice place for it. If nothing else, it's a great conversation piece. Hooray laziness!
I don't need the money that badly and it looks cool to have!

I would keep it, if it were me, and i could use the money. If you keep it in good condition, it's not gonna lose value.
