I'm glad you brought that up. A lot of smartphones these days are using AMOLED screens, which means they produce their own light and do not have a backlight, which means there is no backlight to turn off. This may explain green's problem.

Yep! One cannot simply turn off the "backlight" on an AMOLED; if you want to compensate for excessive ambient light, MORE POWER MORE POWER MORE POWER.
