Just out of curiosity. I know I obviously can't email everyone at once, but is there a way to perhaps mail to mail to large chunks at a time? (for instance, everybody whose last name starts with a-b)

If it's like a lot of universities, the administration probably has a listserv set up for campus-wide messages from the president/housing/billing/enrollment/whatever. You can't use these as a student, but there should be a system in place to do that.

If their system is set up carelessly, some creative spoofing might let you use those. Breaking into one of the administrator's emails would probably work too.

It depends. My college has a webmail which auto-completes student names. It's a nice data-leak and could be easily mined for all student email adresesses (The school adresses that is. Not their private ones. But still)

That might be more what the thief can pawn it for, but he's likely already pawned it unless he's auctioning it online. And if you had personal information on there that he could use to steal money from you, he's likely already tried it.
But if you send everyone an email, they'll cry spam.

Whenever you report something stolen to the police, if you give them the serial number, it is entered into e-pawn. By law, pawnshops must run every serial number through e-pawn before they can buy it.
Bottom line: If you give the cops the serial number to a product, it's not getting pawned. Even the dumbest criminals know not to try and pawn a stolen product.
