because fahrenheit is obviously much more specific than celsius in terms of whole numbers.

Each degree Celcius represents a bigger change in temperature than each degree Farenheit does. Moreover, when comparison with body temperature is desired Farenheit proves to be more simple as 100 degrees is right around the threshold where cellular damage begins to occur.
