Topic: Electrocuted myself
Anonymous A started this discussion 14 years ago #18,034 I was unscrewing a light switch and zapped myself. Of course it wasn't the full power of the mains supply or I would be hurt/dead, just a rather powerful jolt. So how did I get electrocuted without the full force? Don't get it.

Pretty sure you're not supposed to turn all the power off in your house just to change a fucking light switch.

Why were you changing your light switch?

Because it broke.

Most people don't play with electricity. I've never seen anybody do any electric work with the power on, that's just silly lol.

Turning breaker off for that room isn't safe either, sometimes outlets and switches are wired to different breakers. It all goes off. Better safe than sorry.

My dad used to change light switches all the time without turning anything off.

Wait... are we talking the actual switch on the wall or what? I think there is some miscommunication going on here.

Yes, the light switch on the wall. You know, that thing you use to turn a fucking light on and off.

I have a desk lamp and the lightbulb socket's kinda loose. If I touch it right (or wrong, maybe), I get shocked a little.
