The problem for me is mainly you get a sword for protection and it ends up being (1) really loud, (2) tends to kill people when you just want to disable them.

If you think sticks are better though, the result of a stick fight usually is somebody hurt or a body part bruised.

Nah, Sikhs have these little curved... dagger kinda things. They're small. Some have swords but they're for ceremonial purposes.
