I'm not very familiar with this stuff, so this might sound retarded, but hostgator.com looks like it's worth looking into. They seem to be one of the cheapest ones around that will allow any content as long as it's legal. That's an obvious issue since a lot of hosting companies will not allow pornographic or controversial content, which is why we have to rely on companies like PRQ. Hostgator says they're Safe Harbor Certified and have unlimited disk space and unlimited bandwidth plans that start at $5/month.

Great thought, but hosting companies are required to read every message sent to them at their abuse email. It would be a ton of hassle if that inbox got some major flood. Plus, it's not always just Kimmo. Several others have also trying to take us down (Not listing names)

Well the last backup is days old by now, and the data on the server itself, I have no idea what is happening to it. They are trying to get the server back they said. But what has happened I don't know. Personally I'm not too fussed about old posts being available on a new board and I will setup an archive with the old posts and maybe images (if we can get them back). We would need atleast 2GB space and prolly more after some time. Unless we start pruning things.
Also we don't need a VPS, it would be nice. But it is definitely not needed for a site this size. I would prefer sared hosting on a host like PRQ where we don't have to worry about DDoS, DMCA, fake abuse reports and so forth. PRQ will not do anything unless a court tells them to.
