Nevertheless, I conclude users hate open source because statistics reveal they overwhelmingly choose proprietary solutions over comparably equipped open-source solutions. We can observe this trend everywhere; Photoshop vs GIMP. MS Office vs LibreOffice. People always claim it's because those apps don't really 'compare' with the proprietary app. But that's a load of shit. Fucking Blender lays waste to all the proprietary animation apps, and still people keep right on using crappy pay-to-play animation apps.
Come on. Either the overwhelming majority of users are morons or there's some reason they feel better using proprietary apps.

They might prefer proprietary apps because they're commonly backed by a big company and have better support for them. Past that, I don't think there's much explanation besides them being morons.

Well, yeah, but I meant whether it's proprietary or free. They have no need to view or edit the source code, and if the license says they can't redistribute the program without explicit permission from the owner, they'll probably give a copy to their friends on a flash drive anyway.
