I was watching an episode of cops yesterday, and it made me sick.
The first was three black guys who had maybe $20 worth of weed on them. All three arrested had car towed with no other violations (no warrants, ha registration and all).
The second was a guy trying to get to work who was pulled over for expired tags and his tag light being out. He was 100% honest with the officer (he admitted to smoking weed at times and said there might be roaches in the car --there wasn't). His license was suspended for not paying a seat belt ticket (he claimed he didn't know about the ticket till he was pulled over a few days before). He was honest and up front about everything. Ge wasn't a safety risk to anyone. He was legitametely on his way to work.
Arrested. Car towed. I think thy said they would let him call his boss and let him know he was going to be late. The cop lied to him a few times. Just an asshole.
It was sleazy, sure he drove on a suspended license, for a small infraction. He had to get to work and needed his paycheck to pay off the tickets. He had the ticket on him. He was honest about it.
The reality is people still need to work. He wasn't putting anyone at risk. His "crimes" were clerical.
I felt legitametly bad for the guy. this was a recent episode too judging by the cop cars.

Anyone who is not brainwashed by puritanical prison-sponsored propaganda can see there is no justification to getting the justice industry involved for drug use past investigation. The guy who smokes weed at a party will not benefit from being shacked up with rapists and murderers for a few months or even years.
At worst, anyone who uses any drugs selling them should be sent to a rehab facility for several weeks. Of course, the justice industry will not allow that and will stop at nothing to prevent actual societal progress/reduced recidivism save its own liquidation. He will issue a bullshit apology and plea down to a few years that will be reduced to public service on some bullshit condition. Meanwhile, some celebrity will be caught facing the wrong way on a California freeway with drugs in the car after their 5th DUI and somehow be out and partying in a week. Meanwhile, some welfare mother will be denied $20 a month for baby formula after missing an appointment that was rescheduled at short notice for the second time after missing a bus at five in the morning after walking to drop her kid off at a generous neighbor's house. Meanwhile money will continue flowing to all the people who give lip service to propping up the system, and more money will be funneled into the bureaucracy that sustains it all to be skimmed off by the people on top.

He didn't do it, but they almost convinced him by playing off how stupid he can be (they acted like he was a really clever forger because he signed a check out to himself from my dead aunt. It was more than one judge involved. I wouldn't be surprised if most charges get dropped (judges can throw charges away at any time and often do). It was a pretty large conspiracy. Either they throw one under a bus, or they might just get them off light to keep them quiet.
