Topic: Why do the Irish celebrate their cultural genocide at the hands of a middle-eastern religion?

The Native Americans protest Columbus Day and yet the Irish celebrate St. Patrick's Day.
Cultural imperialism always turns the conquered people into drunks: Native Americans, Australian Aboriginees, Irish, etc.

I'm pretty sure that the Irish were raging alcoholics long before imperial England got to them.
As for the Native Americans, it's understandable why they'd take to drink.

The Native Americans and Irish were both very spiritual people before conquers came. Irish Paganism is deeply spiritual with druids and all.

Catholics didn't oppress the Irish.
