Topic: How Chinese dining differs from Western dining

First, people here go out in groups or families. It is VERY rare to see one person sitting alone, or even two. The tables all have lazy susans on top so that the food can be spun around to everyone. Next, it is all served family style, no individual dishes. Everyone shares everything. When the waiter/waitress comes, they do not ask if you want a drink, etc. They just stand there while you peruse the menu, however long it takes. You order food and drink at the same time. Then, it comes out as it is ready. You might get one dish first, or another, etc. Then, the waiter never comes back to ask how it is. They just stay away until you say "Fu yuan!" to call them over. Also, you do not have a personal waiter. You can fu yuan any of them at any time, and they will come running over. Then, you do not tip. I sort of like this way better.

No, I do not. I have a large group of friends here, with whom I hang out almost every night.
