boost it 100%? playing on the xbox as a mage seems pretty annoying because you don't have hotkeys. hell i barely have enough and i have a mod that allows f1-f8 to also be hotkeys

I've got a few regen effects and a fortification effect, and it seems to be plenty for my spell needs (fast healing and the occasional fireball).
It's not so bad if you store everything on the favourites list. I can get to all the spells and equipment I need just fine using that.
