Remember: feel glad, not guilty, for being privileged.

Oh, and $97,000.

Seems like any other middle class combined income. Is it?

Does that mean all americans are in the 1% worldwide?

Yeah but I doubt that accounts for the differing prices between the basket of goods in the United States vs the basket of goods in, say, China.

If I made $2000 a year in USD, I don't have a place to live. I probably eat shit from the garbage for most of the year. A roof over my head would cost at least $500/month, and even the cheapest food will cost a person $150/month.
Compare that to someone in like, Indonesia who makes the equivalent of $1800 USD per year (not to say that's a realistic Indonesian salary, but just for the sake of comparison). They would be able to afford a lot more than I could. And I'm richer than them? Yeah, right.

I agree that the vast majority of Americans have way more food, money, and opportunities than many people across the rest of the world, but it's not as simple as this website makes it out to be.

and that's why america is appealing to people from other countries for work. -they can work here and save some money, and bring it back to their families.

That website is run by elitist fucktards.
It won't even tell you your're position unless you make at least 27 cents daily.

I do agree with what you're saying. The cost of living in the United States is ridiculously high, but the standard of living is also but higher, so even the poorest people in the U.S. are better off than average people in poor countries. Someone making $1,000/year in China is still way better off than someone trying to live off $5,000/year in U.S.
