I just got a new Mac based laptop, and am dual installing Ubuntu as soon as ghw partition finishes (btw Mac has the awesome ability to resize a current partition, I wish widows did that) but my only problem is that the hard drive in it is tiny. How can I set up my tower, with the 4 drives of information, to work with my laptop? Will I be able to use it on the Mac OS as well as Ubuntu?

Yes, there's an administrative tool called Disk Manager that let's you manage partitions, including shrinking and expanding existing partitions.

Sharing files over what sort of connection? Are you planning to physically connect them from time to time or do you want to rig something up over home WiFi or do you just want to know if Ubuntu and Mac filesystems will work together when you shuffle files back and forth?

A mix of both of those

Oh wow. Ambitious. Maybe set up a LAN accessible NFS mount? I think you can get Windows to see those, and Ubuntu and OSX shouldn't have a problem with it. It might require growing a little neckbeard to get it working properly between all three OS's though. Alternately, a Samba share on your tower would probably work with all three too, and it might be easier to set up.

wouldn't it be easier to just use something like dropbox? i don't know what kind of stuff you want to sure and how big those files are though

I just don't want to fill up my Mac's hard drive space, I'm already dual booting Ubuntu on the single hard drive, and I don't want to have to have everything on this lappy when I mostly just use it at home anyways
