I made a topic about this a long time ago when I injured my own patellar tendon and the one or two replies I got from people were the same: it won't go away, no matter how much they rest. I'm now getting treatment and recovering, and my physiotherapist told me that with rest, the tendon never recovers (because basically tendons are lazy and need to be stimulated). If you replied to that topic, and still have the injury, let me know and I'll type out what the physiotherapist told me to do. It's a horribly irritating thing to have and these exercises I'm getting are really, really helping.
