They're absolutely right that it's all about money, and that's yet another reason why gay marriage needs to be recognized. Gay couples should have the same financial rights as straight couples. Plus anyone who thinks religion should have a say in what their civil rights are is a moron.

I agree. Chris Cristie, the governor of my state, has currently promised to veto the gay rights bill already passed by legislature because he "doesn't compromise his principles for politics." I bet he's never vetoed a marriage between a sandwich and his mouth.

I don't think that religion has any place in a government that prides itself on freedoms like the right to practice whichever religion you please, or no religion. It just logically doesn't make sense.
