iTunes is pissing me off. I won't want something big and bulky - I don't even need something with a library/organiser as I prefer just to double click the mp3 in windows explorer.
What's a good light-weight software to use for playing audio? Maybe winamp? vlc? What do you use?

It's not FOSS, but very, very good.
Alternatively, VLC.

I heard a lot about this one, but do you have some clear reasons why you use it, or just because you got used to it?
I use Winamp because I used it for so many years (due to people installing it for me before I knew how to operate my computer). And it does its job well with my simple requirements (some small playlists, last.fm scrobbling).

It's really simple to use and takes barely any resources so it causes no issues if you run it in the background while doing something else. Back when I played WoW I used it while raiding. I know that doesn't sound all that impressive since WoW can run with some shitty graphics, but I always played it with ultra settings.
